So why Milan?

I am off to Milano, to 'teach' English to some Italians.  It is something I have wanted to do for some time, but the dates that were offered never seemed to fit in with my schedule.  I have a week annual leave I need to use (or lose) by the end of March and this opportunity come up and I thought, why not!  Let's give it a go.  Let's face it, if I do not get to Europe now, there is a good chance that I will never be going.  I am certainly not going to pay for a visa to visit a country that I really should be visiting for free.  Brexit really has put a stop on so many things, and I am still feeling very angry about it.  That aside.  I should be back in Blighty by the time the whole of Europe has turned their back on us.  Mind you, I do wish I had another passport/citizenship, I would be off like a shot.

Milan is regarded as the fashion capital of the world.  So in it's honour, I decided to visit South East London's equivalent ...... Lewisham!  Where you can find such labels as Primark, Mon Marche and T K Maxx.  I despise shopping but did manage to find a pair of rather lovely wide legged jeans in Marks and a new blouse.  It is not Prada but hey I am not a size 6.  I have done nothing for this trip. I always used to be so well organised; now I just throw a few things in a case and rock off.  The case is in the lounge, and the new clothes are piled up in the hallway. I am only working half a day tomorrow, so will get it done before I go to Uni in the evening.

All the boarding passes are printed off and on the phone, passport has been dusted off and I have a few hundred Euros; what more does a girl need.  Oh
and my lovely Prada sunglasses.  I have a lot of 'life laundry' going on at the moment so it will be good to just get away and switch off (I never switch off, but you know what I mean)!  Many of you may remember that I was due to go to Budapest in October and had to cancel it literally the day before as I was taken ill and had to go to hospital.  Therefore, I am keeping everything crossed to make sure I actually make it this time.

I am flying from Gatwick Airport, or as I call it Gatport Airwick!  Awful place.  I will get the normal train from London Bridge and it takes about 25 minutes.  As always, I will get there nice and early to 'treat' myself to some new perfume. It is my holiday ritual, so it would be rude not to.

So get your bags packed and come along and enjoy Milan with me!

As always, with my love x
