Day Four

Early start this morning as I had to wash my hair.  Quiet breakfast then I went for a bit of walk along the lane; once again it is a beautiful blue skied morning.  Then classes begin. A group session with me and an American and two Italians. I couldn't get a word in edgeways but that suited me; a break, then a 1-2-1 with Samantha who planned my itinerary last night for me for when I arrive in Milan.  She is lovely, and we went for a walk in the woods and chatted about travelling and things we want to do with life.  Then a 1-2-1 job interview over the phone with Roberto who, to use his word 'was terrified'.  I told him that nothing pleases me more than a terrified man!  He did really well, then we finished off the morning with a group session, me, an American (who was lovely) and two Italians.  it was funny and we all had a good laugh.

Lunch was not very exciting.  The food here is a bit disappointing.  The Italians are up in arms over it all as they say they want us, the Anglos, to have a good experience of Italian food.  Personally, I now feel the size of the colosseum but I can hear what they are saying.  I am now back in my room for one hour of down time.  The afternoon was good, I worked with an Italian guy who is so funny then a lovely woman and we just chatted like we had been friends for life.  However, today has been challenging.  I had some IT issues and spent 45 minutes of my 60 minutes on the phone to Apple who had to reset my MacBook.  It was so frustrating as I was awake at 6.15 and then do not have a break until 2.00 then my 7.00 break was spent on the phone.  However, the weather, has, once again, been beautiful, with warm, blue skies.

Dinner was, once again, disappointing but I sat with another woman this evening who I have not sat with before and she has given me the name of a good restaurant in Milano to go for a coffee and also the name of a street (and the directions) which has all the wonderful, expensive shops.

After dinner the Italians had to do another presentation and I won't lie, I interned to go to my room straight afterwards.  We have to be out of our room at 8.50 tomorrow, packed the lot. However, the evening turned into a karaoke night.  It was hysterical. The Italians trying to sing in English then they played some Italian song and they were off.  They are right party animals.  It was so lovely to see them so relaxed and singing.  We sang songs like I Will Survive, Bohemian Rhapsody, Living on a Prayer, Don't you want me baby.  There is a woman called Teresa who is very quiet, so I stood with her and pointed my finger at the words of the song and she was singing along. it was so lovely.  I am getting the kisses and hugs goodnight and have swapped email addresses, phone numbers and even Facebook requests.  It has been so lovely and great to see their confidence improve over the past few days.

It is now midnight and I have been on the go since 6.15.  I am so tired and need to pack my case. I can also feel a sore throat coming on.  I think it is where you do so much talking and laughing and singing.  However, it has been a good day and most importantly, the Italians have had a wonderful experience.

As always, with my love x

PS no photos tonight, the WiFi is not good and it is taking too long.  More photos to follow.
